Man killed by hit and run driver while tying mattress to his car in Johns Creek, police say

Investigators say Richard Bartlett III, 23, was strapping a mattress and box springs to his car on McGinnis Ferry Road just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit by a car. Bartlett died from his injuries.
The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of McGinnis Ferry Road just before the bridge that crosses over the Chattahoochee River.
Witnesses say the suspect was driving a dark four-door sedan that could possibly be a BMW. Police say it should have damage to the front bumper, hood, front windshield and possible minor damage to the passenger side door.
Johns Creek police have not released any information on any suspected drivers
