ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man died after getting hit by a FedEx truck Saturday morning, according to DeKalb police.
Around 11:15 a.m., police responded to the area of Northlake Parkway near Crescent Center Boulevard. Preliminary investigation suggests that the 77-year-old, identified as Berhane Tedla, was walking across the Target driveway when they were hit by a truck attempting to turn onto Northlake.
The driver stayed on scene, according to police.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends who are mourning the loss of their loved one as a result of this tragic accident,” a statement from FedEx read. “Safety is our highest priority, and we are cooperating fully with the local police in their investigation. As this is an active investigation, any further questions should be directed to the local police.”
